Big news about a tiny exhibition

I have a new painting in a small exhibition – very small! Miniature, actually!

Blank Canvas Art Supplies and Gallery in Charlottetown, PE is hosting their 2nd Annual Miniature Exhibition and I’m pleased to be part of it. It runs from Feb 4 to March 2, 2025.

I plan to be at the opening reception on Monday, Feb 3, 6pm to 8pm. I invite you to attend if you’re in the area. You can also check out the exhibition during Blank Canvas’s regular hours over the next 4 weeks. It’s free, and all are welcome.

Here’s my piece, probably shown larger than actual size (depending on your device)!

As if the miniature size was not constraint enough, I also limited myself to using only 3 tubes of paint: Titanium White, Transparent Burnt Sienna, and Ultramarine Blue (those last two give a great near-black when mixed and/or layered).

I have been exploring this limited palette (and slight variations) through a few other paintings already: Burnt Sienna Blues, and I am still fascinated by its possibilities, so expect more of it from me.
