Last week I attended the opening reception for the 2nd Annual Miniature Exhibition at Blank Canvas Art Supplies & Gallery.
The event was very popular and got quite crowded – congratulations to Blank Canvas for the success in bringing so many people together to share and enjoy artwork!

A sample of the many miniature artworks on display at Blank Canvas Art Supplies Gallery, on Feb 3, 2025.
There are many amazing pieces, in a huge range of subjects and styles and media. Not just amazing tiny paintings and drawings, but also stained glass, needle-felting and other textile arts, even basket weaving. Also googly eyes.
I am really hoping to go back when it’s less busy, so I can spend a lot more time taking in the artworks one by one. Fortunately the show is on until March 2, and free to attend.
This year’s Miniature Exhibition is the 2nd Annual, and it’s my 2nd time participating, too….

This is the piece I showed at last year’s Miniature Exhibition at Blank Canvas:
“Wading” by Rebeka Darylin
February 2024
acrylic on folded canvas
2.8” x 2.8” x 0.4”

And here is my piece in this year’s show:
“Beachcombing” by Rebeka Darylin
January 2025
acrylic on folded canvas
2.8” x 2.8” x 0.4”
(Spouse Shay was the model for both paintings.)
Now I have the beginnings of a tiny series of tiny paintings with a theme of seeking tiny things and finding tiny moments of joy and peace.
These mini pieces are quite fun to make, so I hope there will be a 3rd Annual Miniature Exhibition next year. I’m looking forward to sharing my next piece in this series in 2026.
In the meantime, go see my artwork (and many others) on display now at Blank Canvas Art Supplies in Charlottetown until March 2, 2025.
